Air Serbia celebrates maiden flight from Hamburg to Belgrade
A new airline has joined the fold at Hamburg Airport as of today: Air Serbia. Today, the Serbian carrier celebrates the maiden flight on its new route from Hamburg to the Serbian capital, Belgrade. Belgrade is returning to Hamburg Airport's route network after a long absence, giving passengers an even greater choice of destinations in eastern Europe. Flights to Belgrade are operated four times per week, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Departure times from Hamburg are 10:30 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday, and 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday.
Hamburg Airport officially presents modern airfreight facility
he modern infrastructure, located on Weg beim Jaeger, can handle up to 150,000 tonnes of freight each year - more than double the volume handled in 2015. Hamburg Airport is thus optimally positioned for the future. Costing more than 50 million euros, the new facility is replacing the existing cargo terminal from the 1960s.
Hamburg Airport presents the new summer timetable
The new summer timetable comes into effect at Hamburg Airport on 27 March, 2016. It is valid until 29 October, 2016. Around 60 airlines fly to 120 destinations. On average, they carry 38,500 passengers per day to and from Hamburg in the summer - around 270,000 passengers every week. Once again, for the summer of 2016, the airlines are focussing on destinations for sunny holidays, city trips, and business travel. There are eleven completely new routes from Hamburg. On another seven routes, passengers will now have the choice of additional airlines.

The transatlantic market in summer 18
Anna.aero have taken a look at the transatlantic market and compiled some interesting data. The number of seats on services across the pond will be 5.9% up for a typical peak week in S18, compared to last year. The biggest fish in this market is Delta Air Lines, followed by British Airways, but low-cost, long-haul operators are also creating waves.
Companies in Hamburg satisfied with business at present
Around 87.5 per cent of companies in Hamburg rate their current business situation as “good” (38.4 per cent) or “seasonal” (49.1 per cent) and only 12.5 per cent as “bad”, according to the latest economic barometer by the Chamber of Commerce. Although uncertainties in foreign trade are increasing, export prospects have improved slightly over the previous quarter.
Hamburg among world's most promising digital cities
Hamburg counts among the world’s ten most successful cities in terms of promoting companies in the digital economy, according to the Digital Economy of the Future Rankings by the Financial Times publication fDi Magazine, which specialises in foreign direct investments. Hamburg ranked ninth in the “settlement strategy” category. Hamburg was the only German city to reach the top ten.
Hamburg still most attractive media city
Hamburg remains the most popular city in Germany among media workers and has risen over figures in 2017. Some 32 per cent of those surveyed found the Hanseatic city to be the most attractive. Berlin ranked third with fewer votes (16 per cent), slightly behind Munich with 16 per cent, according to the Media Yorker Report 2018.

Hamburg Christmas markets

Discover history, tradition and a Hanseatic heritage at one of Hamburg's many wonderful Christmas markets. The prettiest is set just outside Hamburg's most impressive town hall. Hosted by Roncalli's Circus, you can discover lots of lovingly decorated stalls and the punch is even served by clowns and circus artists. But there are a variety of other 'styles' of market dotted around the city.

Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival
The Japanese cherry blossom festival with firework display is being held on the Outer Alster since 1968. This gift from the Japanese community to the City of Hamburg brings hundreds of thousands of people to the Alster every year.
