Albawings connecting Hamburg with Tirana from summer 2020
A new airline, Albawings, is coming to Hamburg Airport with the 2020 summer timetable. From 30 March 2020, the Albanian airline will fly to Tirana three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Albanian capital is a new destination for Hamburg Airport, never served directly from the city before. The route will be operated with Boeing B737-400 aircraft.
Hamburg Airport: stable traffic figures in a difficult market environment
For 2019, Hamburg Airport recorded stable passenger figures at a constant high level. The year was characterised by a difficult market environment. Increasing cost pressure and a weakening economy led to the insolvency of established airlines and tour operators. At the same time, Hamburg’s route network remains diverse and passengers want to travel as much as ever. For 2020, the airport expects the consolidation of traffic numbers to continue.
Alitalia to fly from Hamburg Airport to Milan
For the start of the 2020 summer timetable, Alitalia is opening a scheduled route from Hamburg Airport: From 29 March 2020, the Italian airline will connect Hamburg with Milan Linate airport on a daily flight. With its inner-city location, the Alitalia hub of Milan Linate is ideal for business travellers, who benefit from the short journey to the centre of Milan.
