Hamburg is witnessing rising numbers of guests at congresses and meetings, according to the latest study by the Hamburg Convention Bureau GmbH. Overnight stays have risen by around 2.3 million in 2013 to some 3 million in 2016 leading to a potential, monetary added value of approximately EUR 706.5 million. MICE-induced overnight stays have risen by around 700,000 since the Hamburg Convention Bureau GmbH conducted the first study in 2014 and reflect the sector’s growing importance. The overall share of such overnight stays in Hamburg’s hotel sector has increased from 21 per cent in 2013 to 25 per cent in 2016.
