Happy Birthday, Elbphilharmonie!

Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie celebrated its first birthday on 11 January. Just one year old and it has already had 4.5 million visitors to the plaza and some 850,000 concertgoers. The spectacular riverside venue is already one of Europe’s most popular attractions, with three times as many visitors as Neuschwanstein Castle. And Hamburg is feeling it, with 4.5 percent year-on-year growth in overnight stays (13.9 million for 2017). “Elphi“ put the city in the world’s press, and the lure of Hamburg continues to grow.
