Hamburg Airport investing in personnel, digitalisation and infrastructure


Hamburg Airport today presented its balance sheet for the 2018 financial year. The challenges of the summer and the slight decrease in passenger figures shaped the past year. In 2018, the airport was focused on passengers: with optimised infrastructure, modernised security checkpoints and new self-bag-drop kiosks, Hamburg Airport invested in even more efficiency and comfort. At the same time, there are even more personnel available on-site to assist passengers.


Hamburg Airport presents the 2019 summer timetable


The new summer timetable enters operation at Hamburg Airport on 31 March 2019. It is valid until 26 October 2019. Around 70 airlines are flying to approx. 140 destinations. During the summer timetable period, an average of 380,000 passengers per week fly on around 3,000 flights — approx. 3 percent more passengers and flights than in the last summer timetable period. Three completely new destinations are joining Hamburg’s route network: Zadar, Krakow and Kalamata. On routes to another ten destinations, passengers will now have the choice of additional airlines.


Hamburg Airport to use synthetic kerosene


The Heide refinery and Deutsche Lufthansa AG in Hamburg signed a Memorandum of Understanding Thursday (February 14, 2019) on the production and use of synthetic kerosene. The agreement marks a significant investment in future-orientated, environment-friendly produced synthetic kerosene. Hamburg Airport is a partner to the co-operation.
